An anisotropic area-preserving flow for convex plane curves

This paper will deal with an anisotropic area-preserving flow which keeps the convexity of the evolving curve and the limiting curve converges to a homothety of a symmetric smooth strictly convex plane curve.     

Model selection based on Lorenz and concentration curves,Gini indices and convex order

In order to determine an appropriate amount of premium, statistical goodness-of-fit criteria must be supplemented with actuarial ones when assessing performance of a given candidate pure premium. In this paper, concentration curves and Lorenz curves are shown to provide actuaries with effective tools to evaluate whether a premium is appropriate or to compare two competing alternatives. The idea is to compare the premium income for sub-portfolios gathering low risks (identified as low by means of the premiums under consideration) to the true one, or equivalently, to the actual losses. Numerical illustrations performed on hypothetical data and real ones demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed approach.     

A distributionally robust area under curve maximization model

Area under ROC curve (AUC) is a performance measure for classification models. We propose new distributionally robust AUC models (DR-AUC) that rely on the Kantorovich metric and approximate AUC with the hinge loss function, and derive convex reformulations using duality. The DR-AUC models outperform deterministic AUC and support vector machine models and have superior worst-case out-of-sample performance, thereby showing their robustness. The results are encouraging since the numerical experiments are conducted with small-size training sets conducive to low out-of-sample performance.     

Prediction of Concrete Meso-Model Stress-Strain Curves Based on GoogLeNet北大核心CSCD

非均质复合材料的宏观力学性能往往取决于细观组分的分布方式和力学性能，但是建立明确的关系表达式极其困难。为了应对这一挑战，以混凝土为研究对象，提出了一种基于深度学习的策略，能够高效、准确地通过细观模型图像信息获取应力-应变曲线。首先，使用基于卷积神经网络（convolutional neural network，CNN）的GoogLeNet模型进行图像信息识别和提取，并针对应力-应变曲线的复杂性特点，进行了数据预处理操作，并且设计了相应的多任务损失函数。数据集中的细观模型图像采用基于Monte-Carlo的随机骨料模型生成，并且使用数值模拟试验获取对应细观模型的单轴压缩应力-应变曲线。最后，通过对神经网络的训练和测试评估了所提出方法的可行性。结果表明，GoogLeNet模型训练效率和预测精度均优于AlexNet和ResNet模型，具有良好的泛化能力和鲁棒性。     

Nonexistence of global solutions for generalized Tricomi equations with combined nonlinearity

In the present paper, we investigate the blow-up dynamics for local solutions to the semilinear generalized Tricomi equation with combined nonlinearity. As a result, we enlarge the blow-up region in comparison to the ones for the corresponding semilinear models with either power nonlinearity or nonlinearity of derivative type. Our approach is based on an iteration argument to establish lower bound estimates for the space average of local solutions. Finally, we obtain upper bound estimates for the lifespan of local solutions as byproduct of our iteration argument.     

On Cartan's theorem for linear operators

In this paper, we describe a second main theorem of holomorphic curves in , of hyper‐order strictly less than 1, that involves a general linear operator . As an application, we derive a truncated second main theorem of degenerate holomorphic curves of hyper‐order strictly less than 1 using Nochka weights.     

Pseudo‐spherical normal Darboux images of curves on a lightlike surface

We introduce the notions of the pseudospherical normal Darboux images for the curve on a lightlike surface in Minkowski 3‐space and study these Darboux images by using technics of the singularity theory. Furthermore, we give a relation between these Darboux images and Darboux frame from the viewpoint of Legendrian dualities.     

Evolution of highly symmetric curves under the shrinking curvature flow

Under the shrinking curvature flow with inner normal velocity V = k^α(α > 1), it is shown that highly symmetric, locally convex initial curves evolve into a point asymptotically like an multi‐circles. The proof relies on a crucial use of Bonnensen inequality for highly symmetric, locally convex curves. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
